Research Statement:

I am a PhD candidate who is broadly interested in human-environment interactions from the past to the present. More specifically, I focus on the late prehispanic/early historic zooarchaeology of north central and central New Mexico. I use stable isotope analysis to explore the link between prehispanic captive management strategies of birds of prey and bone flute/whistle production. I also use stable isotope analysis in my dissertation research, which examines prehispanic fishing strategies at Ancestral Pueblo archaeological sites in the Middle Rio Grande region.
