Research Statement:
I am interested in using isotopic systems to reconstruct the social and behavioral systems of our hominid ancestors. Specifically, I'm currently using strontium isotopes to reconstruct mobility and landscape use, which can be proxies for social structures in primate communities. I work in Kibale National Park in Uganda using the chimpanzees and other primate there as models for fossil data. I am also involved with the Chaco Canyon faunal isotopes project, which will be using C, N, and O isotopes to determine ecologic and tropic structure of fauna from Chaco canyons and compare it to archeological populations from that area.
