Research Statement:
My research focuses on understanding prehistoric husbandry practices in the American Southwest and Southeast Asia using stable isotope (δ13Ccollagen, δ13Capatite, δ15N and δ18O) analysis of animal bones. While my Ph.D. research explores the relationship between human subsistence and changing environments from the Pleistocene-Holocene transition through the transition to agriculture in Southeast Asia, I am currently involved in an investigation of turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) husbandry in the late prehistoric American Southwest.
